Adam Lambert has had an interesting start in show biz since his stint on American Idol. With his fan base now being aptly named 'Glamily', the boy couldn't get dressed in the morning without a pound of glitter on his face. While he tends to be controversial to some and overdone to others, Adam doesn't understand why his hair cuts are news worthy.
On Lady Gaga: "I think we have similar backgrounds. She did some theater when she was younger and ended up running around with the club kids in New York. And I'd been doing theater since I was a kid and working professionally throughout my 20s in LA. And then I started exploring that whole underground crazy-club-kid culture. So yeah, I think we do kind of come from a similar place, and some of our influences are also the same. I wish I could play piano like her..."
On creating For Your Entertainment: "...a lot of people don't realize that we put the album together in three months, which is a very quick turnaround, all things considered. Given that and the fact that I was on tour with American Idol at the same time while I was recording, I think it's pretty amazing. I really wanted the album to be as diverse as the styles that I explored on "Idol." And yet, what was really important to me was to make something that was current and something that would be commercially viable. You know, this is a business and an art form," said Adam.
On his dramatic stage presence: "That's kind of part of what I do. But there's a middle section in the concert where I literally sit on a stool and I have my guitar player playing acoustic. And that's just as much a part of me as all the smoke and mirrors and the costumes," Lambert said.
