Adam Lambert shares thoughts on Lady GaGa, creating debut album

From the first moment that Adam Lambert was seen auditioning on American Idol -- people knew that he had that "it" factor. In fact, when he made it onto the show, fans were instantly mesmerized and knew that he would be a star. All initial impressions and beliefs about the star have been correct. Not only is the singer enjoying huge popularity and success, but his debut album, For Your Entertainment has gone platinum, selling over 1 million albums worldwide. In a new interview, the singer discusses what it was like to create the first project, and also talks about the similarities between himself and Lady GaGa.

According to the interview, Lambert says of Lady GaGa who is one of the biggest pop stars in the world right now: "I think we have similar backgrounds. She did some theater when she was younger and ended up running around with the club kids in New York. And I'd been doing theater since I was a kid and working professionally throughout my 20s in LA. And then I started exploring that whole underground crazy-club-kid culture. So yeah, I think we do kind of come from a similar place, and some of our influences are also the same. I wish I could play piano like her..." Adam Lambert has definitely had an impact on his fans in the same way that Lady GaGa has -- they both spread messages of positivity and acceptance of themselves and each other.

He went on to say of his debut album: "...a lot of people don't realize that we put the album together in three months, which is a very quick turnaround, all things considered. Given that and the fact that I was on tour with American Idol at the same time while I was recording, I think it's pretty amazing. I really wanted the album to be as diverse as the styles that I explored on "Idol." And yet, what was really important to me was to make something that was current and something that would be commercially viable. You know, this is a business and an art form." Lambert's first album has yielded many hits and the singles continue to do well on the charts and radio.

Lambert who takes his Glam Nation tour abroad next month will be performing for an international audience who is just as excited as those here in the United States. It is a testament to Lambert's talent and many of his fans have gone to multiple shows because they are loving the concerts so much.
